Hi Paul! I have literally sat and read your book today till I finished! I loved reading about your adventures! I have written a review.... Armed with guitars, a milk float and more than your average amount of luck Paul takes us with him on a musical journey like no other! Floating to the Fringe is a great read, I was really drawn into the adventure and I found myself willing Bluebell to make it up the hills and breathing a sigh of relief as she freewheeled down the other side. Paul gives some lovely insights into the lives of the people he meets and snippets of history from the places enroute. We see all sides of humanity, the kindness of many and the strangeness of a few! In all the ups and downs Paul's sense of humour shines through and I chuckled along with him as I read. This is a really enjoyable read and I thoroughly recommend it!

What an enjoyable book! It was difficult to put down, following Paul's adventures on a milk float around the UK. An amazing achievement and well deserved of a Guinness World Record!!

Hi Paul I loved the book. Bluebell did a wonderful job despite some set-backs. I definitely think you are nuts trying what you did, but my hat off to you for giving it a go. The book is well written and it makes you feel like you’re travelling with you. It makes you wish you were there. The scenery sounds so wonderful. What will you be trying next? Would love a hard copy when the book is published please.

If you thought this book was just about a mad-cap idea of driving an electric milk float from Norfolk to Edinburgh and back, then think again! Paul admirably describes the dramas, the people he met, and ever-changing landscapes in this epic journey, taking in the far-flung west of the Outer Hebrides to the islands and coast of the far north of Scotland. The book eloquently highlights the dramatic differences between our normal day-to-day accepted way of life, to that of a more tranquil and simple way of living, shown by the many friendly and helpful people Paul met along the way. A magnificent book and very unique, that grabs the reader’s attention from the very first sentence.

Paul Thompson’s new book ‘Floating to the Fringe’ is a brilliant read, where he shares his memories of a journey he made to the Edinburgh Fringe via lots of other places. After months of planning his journey, he details the ups and downs in a humorous way, but you can feel the pain when things did not go to plan, and the joy when they did. His description of some of tha places he visited were the way I remembered them from my visits, and the addition of the map helped to put into context just where he had been. A brilliant read, what more can I say.
